Diamond Jubilee Fall Fair

Finished the first draft of my novel last night and typed up the first 5 chapters this morning so I decided to treat myself and headed down the road to the Rock Creek & Boundary Fall Fair. It was the perfect weather today for it…

Come join me on the tour.

The map of the fair grounds where everything inside the fence was easily accessible from the one entrance.

I found a Scooby!!!

But she isn’t a dog… ha ha ha

I wandered over to see the horses and saw this beauty. Pegasus

I went up to the gate. The horse was facing away from me and I said, “Hello beautiful. Can I get a picture of you?” She turned her head and walked a step towards me… She has the most incredible eyes. I thanked her for the photo and she let me pet her nose.

Fluffy fun ducks too.

This bunny was giving his mate kisses. It was so cute.

After the animals section I went looking for a tea at an organic tea vendor where I got a heavenly cup of Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte made with oat milk. Ohhhh it was incredible and really hit the spot.

Check these guys out! fun Scarecrows display … see the metal ones … they are so well done.

I hope he missed… hee hee

I wandered down the “Miner’s Alley” and found this incredible table full of Ocean Picture Stones. I’ve never heard of them but they are beautiful.

These stones are mined here above Midway. Only place in the world that these rocks are mined. They look just like this when the guy cuts and polishes the stones.

The fun house was a hoot to read all the jokes on the walls. Best one is the one I took a picture of … gave me a good giggle

It was hard to take a picture of the little town along the back fence of the fair grounds. But you can see the fake facade that they used for the old town.

Ok you all know what garlic is. I just assumed garlic is garlic but I met a guy, Bob, who was telling me all about the different types of garlic. He sells garlic from his garlic farm in Grandforks. I pointed to the bag of Music Garlic and asked him why it was called that. He said he didn’t know the actual story behind the garlic but he had one he liked to tell people if they were willing.

I asked his permission to share the story and he said go ahead! So here it is…  This garlic gives a great song the morning after.

Ok, I’ll show myself out now… I hear the groans.

This lady handling the tires is actually pretty good.

She had to stack the tires and did a pretty good job.

So many rides but this one has always been my favorite since I was a kid. No, I didn’t go on the rides this time. The line up was insane.

And what is a fair without live entertainment.

I had a great afternoon and when I got back at 4pm to get more writing done, it didn’t happen because my Dad came home! He was about 5 minutes behind me.

I’m off to spend the evening hearing about his adventures across Canada ato Manitoba. Have a great night everyone!
