Most people do the 12 days of Christmas Countdown. Some, like Ryan Kelly of Celtic Thunder, do the 24 Christmas trees countdown, which is really cool. Check out his Facebook page to see them.

In my family we had so many traditions and it seemed as we got older there were fewer experienced or continued and some we added. When I became a mom, I did definitely continue many of my childhood traditions but now that my son is an adult, my mom passed and my siblings have all left home, I’ve turned to finding traditions that lift me up and help me through the holidays.

And it’s probably why I started my 24 days of Christmas Countdown a few years ago. Last year I didn’t seem to write about them. At least not on a computer so I only have my blog from another sight to show you how my days have evolved. Check out 2019 blog to see for yourself and compare.

So what does Day 1 of the Christmas Countdown entail? Candy Cane hot chocolate and Christmas Card writing, of course!

I haven’t been writing on my blog, the past few weeks as you have probably noticed. It’s because I’ve been busy making all these cards…

As you probably remember, or maybe you are new to my blog group so don’t know, in which case… welcome! I’ve been writing Christmas cards to those serving overseas for many years now and this year is no different. Here is my stack of cards to send as well as my collection made to send to family and friends (101 this year). Yes it’s a lot, however I love making the cards and I love hearing the joy in the voices of my friends and family who have received them. It’s an amazing feeling. Like Christmas for me came early.

Well, time for me to get writing…
